Hello, my name is Eric and welcome to Bandora!  I created this website to be a platform that provides bite-sized lessons aimed to build one’s musical foundation.  The lessons are organized in a tree diagram to allow learners to choose their own path in music.  Interactive videos and quizzes keep users engaged as they progress through lessons.  Currently, Bandora is focused on teaching music theory and guitar with the goal of expanding to other instruments.

I started playing music at a young age, like in the single digits.  Piano was cool, but when I learned to play the guitar in the 7th grade my life changed forever.  I remember the first time my friends and I played a full song together.  We looked at each other like something magical just happened and I’ve been chasing that high ever since.  But since that day, music has lead me to life I never dreamed I could have.

I’m currently a part-time musician but I’m able to memorize and play over 300 songs while maintaining a career and family outside of music.  Using my knowledge of basic music theory and guitar fundamentals, I’m playing music at a professional level, from star-studded Hollywood events to corporate parties in arenas and even around the world.

I’m not saying this to be self-depricating but I’m not special.  I don’t have extraordinary learning abilities that makes it easier for me to learn music.  I do think that I’m  able to take in concepts and focus on the main things that matter the most.  Learning concepts is one thing, but making connections to what you hear is another.  That’s what I believe will make you a successful musician.  That and also 10,000 hours of practice.  But maybe you can do it quicker!
